The Compassion of Christ offers freedom

Christ saw our plight. We are sinners (unable to live up to God’s standards) separated from a Holy God. Our destination for our sins is eternal separation from this Holy God (Romans 6:23). We are powerless to do anything about it. Christ’s compassion
moved him to demonstrate his love while we were still sinners, in that He died for us (Romans 5:8). At the right time, Christ helped the helpless (Romans 5:6). Christ's compassion moved him and in exchange we are made the righteous of God,
as credit to us through Christ (Romans 4:24). Being justified through faith, we have peace with God (Romans 5:1). Not only that, we can boast that we are reconciled to God through Christ (Romans 5:11). Therefore, we are no longer condemned because we are in Christ (Romans 8:1). This process of receiving God’s compassion is given to us when we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, when we do, we will be saved from the sentence of separation from a Holy God (Romans 10:9). We ask God to forgive us of our sins, and His compassion that saw our need in our
helpless state, will forgive us and give us His Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).

Who fits the title of a sinner? ~ Scripture says that everyone has fallen short or missed the mark of living up to God's holy standards (Romans 3:23). Our deeds and thoughts make us miss the mark. Therefore, we all are helpless and unable to live up to the Holy standards of God.

What was our plight? ~ As sinners we find ourselves separated from God and therefore we are unable to access the provisions that He has for His people. We also find ourselves heading for enternal separation from the love of God if we die as sinners (hell).

What is the good news? ~ The good news is Christ saw that we were not able to correct this plight. Therefore his compassion for the helplessness of mankind moved him to  take our punishment for our sins by dying on the cross. when He did that, he
gave us a way to be reconciled to God (put back into a right relationship).  Furthermore, we no longer have to live a life through our own means and understanding.  God's Spirit is available to help us walk daily in the truth of God's word.  God's Spirit equips us to live out the individual purpose that God has for each person.

Do you want that relationship with Christ?

Invitation to Christ

Romans 10:9-11 "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are  justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the scripture says, "everyone who trust in him will never be put to shame."
